Engineering Concepts

Mechanism Explained

Aerodynamics

Wind kinetic energy hits the angled blades, creating lift and drag which causes the rotor to spin.

Mechanical Drive

The rotor spins a low-speed shaft, which connects to a gearbox (optional) to increase RPM for the generator.

Induction

The generator converts rotational mechanical energy into electrical energy via electromagnetic induction (Faraday's Law).

Construction Guide

Follow these steps to build your model.

1

Blade Design

Cut PVC pipe sections into airfoil shapes. Sand edges for better aerodynamics.

2

Tower Setup

Construct a stable base and tower using metal pipes or wood. Ensure vertical alignment.

3

Generator Mount

Mount the DC Motor (Dynamo) at the top (Nacelle). Connect rotor hub to motor shaft.

4

Output Test

Connect output wires to a multimeter or LED. Test in wind flow to verify voltage.
