Build a circuit to convert 12V DC Battery power into 220V AC Mains power. Understand Oscillators, MOSFET Switching, and Transformers.

Project Workflow

How It Works

1

Oscillation

An electronic oscillator (using 555 timer or IC CD4047) generates a 50Hz square wave pulse signal.

Switching

This signal drives Power MOSFETs (IRF540/Z44) which act as high-speed switches to chop the DC current.

Step Up

A Step-Up Transformer (12-0-12V to 220V) boosts the low voltage pulsed DC to high voltage AC.

4

Output

The output is filtered to smooth the wave and delivered to the socket to power appliances like fans/bulbs.
