Mechanism Explained

Mechanical Input

Human metabolic energy is converted into rotational mechanical energy by pedaling the bicycle crank.

RPM Step-Up

A large flywheel or bicycle wheel drives a smaller pulley on the generator, multiplying the RPM (Speed Ratio) for efficiency.

Power Regulation

The variable voltage from the DC motor is regulated (e.g., to 12V constant) to safely charge a lead-acid battery.

Construction Guide

Follow these steps to build your model.

1

Stand Setup

Fabricate a metal stand to lift the rear bicycle wheel off the ground for free rotation.

2

Drive Mechanism

Mount the DC motor near the rear wheel. Connect motor shaft to tire rim using a friction pulley or belt.

3

Circuit Wiring

Connect Motor -> Blocking Diode -> Voltage Regulator -> Battery. Add a multimeter for display.

4

Testing

Pedal at constant speed. Measure voltage output and connect a load (Bulb/Phone Charger).
