Generate electricity from air! Build a working model to convert kinetic wind energy into electrical power using a DC motor and light up an LED.

How to Make It?

Follow these simple steps to build your model.

Blade Making

Cut 3-4 blades from cardboard or a plastic bottle. Angle them slightly to catch the wind.

The Generator

Attach the blades to the shaft of a small DC Toy Motor (Dynamo). This will act as our generator.

Tower Assembly

Mount the motor on a sturdy stick or PVC pipe. Fix it to a wooden base so it stands upright.

Light It Up

Connect the two wires from the motor to an LED bulb. Spin the blades and watch it glow!

The Science

Energy Conversion

Kinetic Energy

Moving air (wind) possesses kinetic energy, which pushes against the blades.

Mechanical Energy

The blades spin the rotor shaft, converting wind energy into rotational mechanical energy.

Electrical Energy

Inside the motor, coils spin within magnets, inducing electric current (Faraday's Law).
